I’ve surprised myself, keeping at this blog and its postcards for four-plus years. Curiosity and a large appetite for research have led me to subjects I’d never imagined — from roads less travelled, medicinal potions, and working cats to a history of race in Oregon, the catastrophic losses of Rogue Valley’s Hispanic community in the devastating Almeda Fire, and life in the time of COVID-19.
For those who haven’t received these posts one at a time, I have created a small volume of stories and photographs that you might enjoy (24 out of the 80 plus that appear on the blog). Next Generation Press, the small nonprofit press I started 15 years ago, is the publisher.
